I haven’t slept in the past two days. Why? This EECS 430 project while fighting off a cold. I might not do well on this project, but at least there are some good things happening in my life.
For one, the Case Alumni Association has extended me a generous scholarship for the next two semesters. I’m not sure if I will still be around in two semesters - but that is a whole other story (which I should be able to tell by Friday). I actually showed up to that interview sans suit (because they never told me to wear one…), but I guess I did a good enough job impressing them.
For two, I have be contacted by Google - you know, that company with the search engine - for a possible internship/job. w00t is not quite strong enough a word to describe the feeling I got when I saw that email. w00t++ will have to do. More info on that later as the story develops.
For three, I am being flown out to Chicago for an interview with Avanade next Friday. They are ‘a joint venture between Accenture and Microsoft to provide business- and industry-based solutions utilizing Microsoft technology’. Sounds cool to me. I’m looking forward to the trip.
On the whole, I’m kind of down right now.

Whoever thought of having our formal in a brewery was a genius. The night was very entertaining for everyone who came, which included quite a few alumni from out of town, state, and country. I know my date, Janine Kaiser (just a friend), and I had a great time. A motorcoach drove us from Phikap to the Great Lakes Brewery. It didn’t look like more than a warehouse from the outside, but inside and upstairs was a very well decorated seating area with a well stocked bar featuring the many beers Great Lakes offers.

Phi Kappa Theta threw a mixer with Alpha Phi at their house. It went really well. We brought a *ton* of chocolate and made fondue to dip strawberries, bananas, and sliced pineapple in. I played Parcheesi with Ashley, Mitch, and Samantha. Nothing too crazy - everyone found a game and played it. It was cool. There are some pictures in the gallery.

It’s been a busy past couple of days. There was the Alumni scholarship interview, the EWeek banquet last night, and a just a large amount of makeup work to do that I missed while I was in Seattle. New pictures, in the gallery, you know the drill.
My photos are going to be appearing in the yearbook, newspaper, and now undergraduate admission’s website and publications. That’s pretty cool news for me. I’m going to have to start to improve my portrait shots.
Tonight is going to be a bit busy. I’m playing the violin at Trish’s banquet at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation House. I should probably figure out what I’m going to play…
Finally, but not least, phikap is holding a party tonight at 10pm - Mardi Gras. It should be an excellent time, as TJ and Jimmi have generously donated to support the cause! Come on out and join us.
Phikap threw a small shindig last evening. The party was slow starting so I helped Rob Kinsey fix all his Linux server woes and studied data structure algorithms until people started to show up. I had a couple drinks and then realized I should take it easy on a couch for a bit. Two people joined me on the couch and that led to some things that were partly regretable, but not entirely. It made the evening memorable. What I don’t remember is where some of my clothing…hmmm…nevermind. Roll with the punches. Tomorrow is another day. I put some photos I took in the gallery.
Realizing that it was about 3:30am and my flight to Seattle was due to take off shortly, I decided to call a taxi service and get over to the airport. I grabbed some clothes and toiletries from home and stuffed them into a bag and ran out the door.
