Soda Bottle Pressure Cap and other ideas

Many people have experienced the unfortunate result of a bottle of soda being slightly shaken up and exploding all over themselves when they open it. Can this situation be predicted and avoided? Perhaps a bottle cap that uses a material that changes color under varying pressure could be included to warn the consumer. A light shade of green would indicate a safe opening, while a bright red might let you know you should open it over a sink.

Some soda bottles will include printed droplets of water on the label. My guess is this subliminally makes me think this tasty beverage will quench my thirst. It would be interesting to see if any water bottle distributers have used realistic pictures of ice cubes on the label so that consumers think their water is cooler.

The problem with this idea is that this material doesn’t exist. And if it does please let me know where I can find some.

What about a small amount of liquid crystals between two clear pieces of plastic. I have no knowledge of material engineering, but I know that when I apply pressure to an LCD screen it changes colors indicating pressure.
