Baked Cinnamon Apple Slices
On the homefront, a swarm of apples has invaded the kitchen. What started as one or two pounds has multiplied to a number that exceeds most people’s ability to count. In order to combat this strange foe, Megen and Ben have requested Mr. Chodroff’s help. Mr. Chodroff stated he uprooted their stronghold in the refridgerator but he is predicting “a couple of tough weeks” before we see victory, adding, “we will finish the work of the fallen” and usher in a new era of democracy.
At a combination speech and news conference in his room, Mr. Chodroff rejected a suggestion that the kitchen was becoming another Vietnam — a quagmire without ready exit. “I think that analogy is false,” he said. “I also happen to think that analogy sends the wrong message to our troops and it sends the wrong message to our enemy.”
To which he added his own recipe for success in the Kitchen:
1 Apple, cored and sliced thin
1/8 cup of sugar
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the apple slices on a baking pan that is lined with tin foil. Mix the sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon together and sprinkle lightly over the slices. Flip the slices and sprinkle the other side. While Mr. Chodroff rejected stating his timetable for exit from the oven, close sources are suggesting that we bake for 15 minutes and allow the slices to cool before enjoying.
Caution: Will fill your kitchen with a pleasant aroma that might make your masculinity questionable. To fix the situation, cook a steak with onions.
Possible untested combination:
2 tablespoons of butter, 1/4 cup of orange juice, 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg to taste - heat over medium low heat until thick. Use as a topping over vanilla ice cream.
