Project progress and Extreme Salsa
Our team is putting the finishing touches on the Tier 1 goals for our project. This signifies we are at least 1/3 done and puts us just slightly ahead of our schedule. I spent this morning revising our powerpoint presentation and putting in a very fancy animation that shows how our product works. Part of the Extreme Blue program includes giving four minute presentation ‘pitches’ to IBM executives. The final pitch is given to the high echelons at IBM Corporate Headquarters in Armonk, NY.
Last night, my roommate Chris Broglie and I made my father’s salsa recipe - with a few new twists. Normally I find the salsa too thin - I like a good chunky salsa. Chris cut the onions thicker and I substituted half of the crushed tomatoes for diced tomatoes. The result was some of the best damn salsa I have ever had. Zahir, a native Texan but studying at MIT, claimed this salsa was authentic and we got many compliments at work on how great it tasted.
I made dinner of a loaf of bread, cheese, and a bottle of wine. Afterwords, we headed out to Chapel Hill for $3 32oz beers at “He’s Not Here”. We met up with the rest of the IBMers and the evening went very well. I spotted Rachael and her friends and hung out with them for awhile. I was buying Marcin a drink and we ended up meeting two UNC girls who we talked with for the rest of the night. I should be seeing one of them again soon.
