Some days you just wake up and realize that your little toe is broken. Oh, sure, you can try to rationalize that jumping over a 7′ fence four times in the previous day, twice while fairly intoxicated, might have cause it. I also seemed to have a metal shard in my foot from walking barefoot to the club.

First day at the job site, Howl at the Moon
I woke up around 05:00 and went for a run only to find I was fenced in. I ended up hoping the 7′ barbed wire fence - there was no way in hell I was going back to sleep after waking up at that hour.
The first day of work was easy going. Everyone was working on roofing. A crew swung sheets of plywood onto the trusses, aligned them, tacked them down, and then chalked a line where nails were to be driven by another crew. Once a house had a completed roof that had been inspected, a thid crew (all of Bucknell) was responsible for nailing down a layer of black mats which, along with the shingles, protect the wood from the elements.
During my breaks, I took plenty of photos. I caught some excellent contrast silhouette shots thanks the intense sun.

Fort Lauderdale - beach, at last
I woke up bright and early and went for about a 6 mile run down the road. On the way back I stopped by a grocery store and picked up some turkey, bread, and a big jug of orange juice.
I decided to drive again, but I knew I wouldn’t be going the whole day.

Spring Break 2006, the drive down - first half
I woke up at 3am and finished tidying up the apartment before heading out. I had my bags already loaded in the rental van parked outside my apartment. I headed out to pick up Tran and Sachin. After a short rendezvous with the rest of the group on northside, we hit the road. In my car was Sachin Java, Tran Tran, Joe Drungil, Nermila Swayambunathan, and Neeraja Krishnaswamy.

I hope you like sangria
After an exhausting day of finishing exams in both calc and sociology, I was eager to get home, pack, and then relax. Laura Butz called me up around dinner time and we headed down to Mi Pueblo. It was good times feasting on cheap mexican food and freaking huge glasses of sangria for the rest of the night.
