Fixing my broken flash, AuPair Artificial Intelligence Room Control is becoming a reality!
If you have been following my photography, you might have noticed the last week of pictures haven’t quite all been in focus. Alas, this is somewhat my own fault, but only because I took horrible care of my equipment. My flash unit got slightly smashed causing the autofocus on the unit to go haywire. I am not sure when this happened, but it must have happened because of the way I pack my equipment into a makeshift camera bag that in a former life served as an insulated cooler. I received the replacement part this evening and will hopefully be back up and running with ultrasharp shots by tonight.
As I promised myself, I spent more time working on my EECS and group projects today. I spent nearly the entire day with Alex Maskovyak working on AuPair, the Artificial Intelligence Room Control server I came up with. Justin Rich has been slaving away at the Ruby web interface and has started to investigate the AI methods. Today Alex and I implemented the Java based client server model that will connect to the mySQL database and populate it with event information. It really is coming together nicely! The website is looking sexy and I’m loving the HCI. The client server is still in its infant stages, but they’re coming along.
A world of stress has been lifted off of my shoulders and I’m pleased I’m making good on the promises I made to myself. Having good teammates is key
