learning tacos, python, swing dancing, more eigenvalues

I went major food shopping this morning. I have enough food to last me the next month, easily. Eager to dig in, I decided to make lunch/dinner at 1pm! I spent a little over an hour making tacos from scratch for the first time. They were amazing and I have enough leftovers to last me the next couple days.

Glicoes dropped by to pick up my 70-200mm lens for the weekend and to play with the studio lighting for a bit. He recently sunk a few pretty pennies into a studio setup of his own - I’m eager to check it out.
I have my first studio shoot set for Sunday! It’s an artistic nude session with a female friend, but I should get a couple clothed shots first to post in the gallery. She is naturally drop dead gorgeous even with her clothes on. I just have to get the exposure right and she’ll take care of the rest. I have spent the past couple weeks searching the internet with her for example poses she likes - so I have a good idea of how to direct her.
After tidying up the kitchen, I ran down to hear Christopher Hesse’s presentation on the Python Language. I have been meaning to learn that language and he gave a great intro talk on why Python is awesome and how to get started. It is incredibly easy and powerful. I love it. I was talking to one of my other teammates in CAM Extreme Blue today. She is a python wizard and we both agreed that coding certain sections of CAM in Python would be a hell of lot better than Perl. I’ll just have to become a wizard before this summer.
After the talk, I went to a swing dance lesson. Janine agreed to be my date to formal tomorrow, where there will be a live swing band. I figure I should at least learn the basics if I’m going to try dancing tomorrow. It was a very fun class and there were a couple new faces so I wasn’t alone in my blunders. Matt Maibach showed up for the second half of the class - we’ll be the best swing dancers tomorrow! After the class ended, we went back to the dorms with some of the pros and learned some more steps. It took three hours of practice, but I think I have the basics. I just have to remember to be confident tomorrow…that was my biggest weakness. More chutzpah. As soon as I started to think about what I was doing, it fell apart. I think too much :)

I dropped by Nick’s dorm and learned some math. I need to keep my awesome streak going in differential equations if I’m going to pull off a good grade…I really bombed that first exam, but I have been doing amazing since then (nearly aced the midterm!). We have a quiz tomorrow so we went over the problems for awhile. I’m going to destroy that quiz - no doubt about it.
