What a beautiful day to visit Seattle. There was barely a cloud in the sky and the temperature was just brisk enough to make your breath visable. I had a late breakfast at a small deli near my hotel and then headed out to Seattle’s Japanese Garden. I was very sad when I found out that opening day was still a week away. So much for that idea. I hiked the trails all the way around the garden trying to get a clear shot of what was inside. I didn’t have much luck.
I got back into my car and drove to the market. Pike’s Market was bustling with vendors, musicians, and consumers. I took many pictures which are now in the gallery. I purchased nuts, coffee, and all sorts of food as I walked around viewing the scene. It was wonderful.
I dined at the Cafe Campagne, the small sister restaraunt of Campagne. They made me an “Omelette Choisy” that was out of this world. Herbed eggs rolled around escarole and melted goat cheese… I need to try to make this when I get back home. Holy shit, I found *the* recipe for Cafe Campagne’s “Omellete Choisy”! I’m definitely going to try it!
After lunch, I purchased some food to bring back home (I think I’ll give it to the Undergraduate Admission people). I spent some time sitting on the docks overlooking the harbor for awhile and enjoyed a box of “damn good strawberries”.
