Planters fasciitis in the right foot

Filed under: Athletics, Life — Benjamin Chodroff @ 10:17 pm

Looks like milk and orange juice are back on the menu.

I was all gung-ho about doing my nine miles this evening, until I realized that I couldn’t walk. It is a minor setback. I contacted Dr. Dad and nurse mom and they’re guessing I’ve got a case of planters fasciitis. What does that mean? It means that I can’t run for a week or two, or risk getting into some chronic problems. I’m going to start on a regimen of ibuprofen (I really don’t like taking unnecessary medications, but this one seems in order).

I would probably just give it three days if it weren’t for the fact that I have my Microsoft interview this weekend and it might be nice to be able to walk around. I don’t like this ‘no running bit’ one…bit. Hmm, we’re going to have to work on those tag lines.

  1. No idea if this will get a response but, did the days off running help relieve your plantars fasciitis?

  2. How long did it take for your pf to disappear? I have it now but I’m not a runner, just a gardener and have no idea what caused mine.

  3. After two weeks of a strict ibuprofen regimen, it was all clear. 90% of the pain was gone after a week.
