The first week of marathon training

Filed under: Athletics, Life — Benjamin Chodroff @ 4:46 pm

Last week I ran over 25 miles, as perscribed by Hal Higdon’s Intermediate Marathon Training Schedule . It has been going remarkably easy. As Nate was quick to point out, this schedule is not nearly as difficult as the forced labor the Nazis imposed upon the Jews, and therefore I have no reason to feel proud of my accomplishments. I, however, believe I’m doing quite well considering nobody is pointing a gun at my head.

So far, I have gone injury free. I have a persistent slight pain in my left foot, but nothing a hot bath hasn’t been able to relieve. The runs this week have been going much easier and I’m looking forward to the nine mile run on Sunday.

Who would have guessed this shit is good for you? I’m starting to get abs! A couple more weeks of this and I might actually be in shape.
