I remember string blanky. My blanket that was woven from many pastel colored strings. Whenever I needed a piece of string, which was quite common, I ripped a string out which explained the large number of holes in my blanket. I also had a small stuffed lion. I lost the lion one winter in the snow, but I somehow got another identicle one. It might have been from my little sister Leah who asked her kindergarden teacher for it. I can’t really remember.

It’s been a busy past couple of days. There was the Alumni scholarship interview, the EWeek banquet last night, and a just a large amount of makeup work to do that I missed while I was in Seattle. New pictures, in the gallery, you know the drill.
My photos are going to be appearing in the yearbook, newspaper, and now undergraduate admission’s website and publications. That’s pretty cool news for me. I’m going to have to start to improve my portrait shots.
Tonight is going to be a bit busy. I’m playing the violin at Trish’s banquet at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation House. I should probably figure out what I’m going to play…
Finally, but not least, phikap is holding a party tonight at 10pm - Mardi Gras. It should be an excellent time, as TJ and Jimmi have generously donated to support the cause! Come on out and join us.
I haven’t accepted anything yet, as I am waiting to hear back from Microsoft and the possible, although the now deemed ‘unlikely’, other offer from IBM EB in San Jose. However, I did receive an official offer from the “Continuous Availability Manager” project located in RTP, NC. It’s a really great offer…and includes all my housing expenses and free breakfast. I’ll know my plans by Feb. 28th. No matter what I pick, this summer is going to be really great.
I tried making the “Omelette Choisy” that I enjoyed so much while at Cafe Campagne in Seattle. I followed the recipe that I discovered, and had moderate success. The problems I ran into were:
- While making the clarified butter, I had the heat too high and browned it
- The recipe called for three eggs, but my frying pan is more suited for only two
- The recipe called for twice as much escarole as I remember eating
Next time, less heat, less eggs, less escarole, and more goat cheese.
I caught the 22:30 (PST) red-eye flight from Seattle to Detroit back home. I didn’t catch more than a wink of sleep. The airplane was a fully loaded 757 and it was just too noisy. I got into Detroit around 06:00 (EST) and finally in Cleveland around 07:00. I was surprisingly awake at this point, even though I had been up for nearly 24 hours and had finished some of the hardest interviews I have ever had.
